Research
& Development
The R
& D center focuses on:
Maintaining technology leadership and focus on advanced active
materials, basic cell technology and chemistry and process improvements.
 |
Providing rapid prototyping capabilities
to enable us to win new product orders faster while also
supporting our replacement battery activities. |
 |
Supporting production through continuous
quality control and failure analysis. |
Our team is is composed of scientists comprising principally premier US resident scientists with
extensive experience in most of the key aspects of Lithium-ion
technology. They are all assisted by local university chemistry
graduates who have undergone an accelerated training program.
The basic laboratory validation of our improved technology was
done on standard cells (similar in size to cellular phone cells).
Our sample validation program will focus on two types of cells:
| i) |
Small cells (basic area up to 100
X 100mm.) for various applications such as portable communications
(cellular, cordless), portable computing devices (laptops,
PDAs) and portable electronics (VCR, CD and DVD players,
wireless appliances) |
| ii) |
Large cells (basic surface are up
to 200 X 200mm.) for use in uninterrupted power supplies
(for fiber optics, telecom networks and computer systems),
cordless home appliances, electric bicycles and other
electric vehicles. |
| iii) |
The manufacturing capacity could reach
approximately 700,000 pieces per month. |
